I worked at the Australian Neuromuscular Research Institute as an Honours student during my Physiotherapy studies at Curtin University from 2003-2004, before returning to complete a PhD at the University of Western Australia under the supervision of Associate Professor Soumya Ghosh, and Professor Frank Mastaglia from 2006-2008. As I advance in the field of neuroscience, each day I am made more aware that the training that I received, and the research that I performed in Associate Professor Ghosh's laboratory was truly outstanding on a global scale, and I am proud to name the ANRI as the institution where I received my early training. It is my hope that the superb approach to medical research that I observed every day at the ANRI has become a part of my own work ethic in my subsequent post-doctoral training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard Medical School and New York University.
